Sifu Bertrand Lim is the Founder of Singapore Ip Man Ving Tsun Kuen- SIM-VTK. He started martial arts training when he was 6 years old in Tae Kwon Do, and has a total 42 years of training in martial arts, of which 23 are of the Ip Man Lineage. Training and teaching in Singapore since 1999, he started under Sifu Ken Lau- Ip Chun Lineage and was the first to complete the system under him. Sifu Lim is one of the pioneers of Ip Man Ving Tsun in South East Asia. He is the definitive person who brought Grandmaster Samuel Kwok to Singapore for a seminar in 2010 and helped him expand to South East Asia- Malaysia, Indonesia. Sifu Lim assisted in teaching his Malaysian seminars in Kuala Lumpur and Kajang and translating his instructional books. Sifu Lim had the honor of attending Grandmaster Ip Chun's 80th and 88th Birthday, bringing the Singapore contingent to attend these events. He proudly brought the FIRST Singapore contingent to attend Ving Tsun Athletic Association Anniversary in Foshan, China and performed Sil Lim Tao in front of Ip Man Tong. A blessed hand of fate found Sifu Lim seeking Grandmaster Ip Ching and being accepted as his personal disciple and for private training. Eventually Sifu Lim was awarded the Instructor Certificate(VTAA) directly under him. Later on, Sifu Lim brought the first Singapore contingent to train with Grandmaster Ip Ching at VTAA in Hongkong and led the first Singapore contingent to attend Grandmaster Ip Ching's 80th Birthday. He is the Only Singaporean to have been personally trained and certified directly under Ip Ching as Sifu- Disciple. SIM-VTK International has active overseas Kwoons in Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Myanmar that he supports and continues to guide and instruct. Apart from Ip Man Wing Chun, Sifu Lim is certified Military PTK-CQC, Close Quarter Combatives Instructor Level 1 under Tuhon Tim Waid. He holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do under the WTF system via Master Lee Kwang Peng. Certified Biotherapist Advanced Levels By Biotherapy Asia. Qigong Master via Qi Vitality via Sifu Nicholas Chia. Longevitology Practitioner. Disciple of Huang Sheng Shyan Taiji Lineage, and the 56 steps Taiji via Sifu Lim Kwee Hiong. Currently, SIM-VTK teaches to Singapore close door disciples, personal training, corporate training and short courses in self defence, qigong, healing and ving tsun. Sifu Lim returns to Hongkong yearly to train with the Ip Ching Lineage.
